Jazz In Tech

23–26 April 2025

Jazz in Tech lands in Soho this spring—four days of future-facing music, digital play, and boundary-breaking performance. From April 23–26, we’re exploring what happens when jazz collides with technology in real time. Expect loop stations, live coding, visual installations, and the beta launch of Soho’s first virtual jazz venue, hosted in Roblox’s Soho Jazz Cafe.

Screen Time Gets Swing

The week opens on Wednesday 23 April with Jazz//Byte at Piano Bar Soho. Pianist Nathan Britton remixes screen culture into a jazz format, looping themes from Games, TV, film and viral content live on stage.

On Thursday 24 April, 8-Bit Bebop reboots the Soho Jazz Jam at Alfie’s with chiptune, synths and improvisation. That same night at Piano Bar Soho, Matt Davies x Yume Net bend time and code in an experimental drums/keys set that blends glitch visuals, loops, and improvised chaos.

 Friday & Saturday Highlights

On Friday 25 April, Jsphynx (Johnny Woodham) teams up with Liam Shortall of corto.alto for a headline show at Alfie’s, built from lockdown loops and full of low-end power and bold brass. Meanwhile at Piano Bar Soho, Console Grooves sees Theo Hayhurst rework classic gaming soundtracks—think Mario Kart meets modal jazz.

Saturday 26 April wraps the week with guitarist Tjoe Man Cheung bringing sharp cinematic energy to his trio set at Piano Bar Soho, followed by Cosmic Fusion at Alfie’s—UK drummer Jon Onabowu leading a stellar lineup through 70s-era fusion with a 2025 pulse.
